Coach Dr. Ofori Asare is the national amateur boxing team coach and had been hailed for many reasons lately in Ghana.
Sending a team of three to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games and winning the only bronze medal for Ghana and breaking the medal drought of Ghana at the Olympics that has lasted for 29plus years.
Dr. Coach Ofori Asare is the founder and coach at Wisdom Boxing Gym where many of the boxing champions in Ghana have trained as well as the amateur boxers.
After the heroics with his team at the Tokyo Olympics and been the only discipline to win a medal. the entire country hailed Coach Dr. Ofori Asare and so has his works been recognized.
At the most prestigious sports awards night in Ghana organized by the Sports Writer’s Association of Ghana (SWAG), Dr. Coach Ofori Asare has been named to received an award for ‘Dedication and Valour’ as has also been nominated for the ‘Coach of the year’ category.
With members of SWAG to decide who deserves it most, Dr. Coach Ofori Asare will have Coach Samuel Boadu of Accra Hearts of Oak, Coach Yussif Basigi of Hasaacas Ladies and other two Ghanaian coaches looking to honoured as the best on the night.
