Pep Guardiola and his men showed no mercy as they hosted Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium for the English Premier League encounter.

The game was short of nothing but class and determination by both teams from the start of the first half till the end. Manchester City who are in the title race started posing threats to Leicester City in the opening minutes of the game and they persistence paid off in the 5th minute as Belgian international Kevin De Bruyne lashed in the first for Man. City.

Leicester City after conceding the first goal looked lost on the pitch with Manchester City in cruise control. Riyad Mahrez from a spot kick added the second for Manchester City in the 14th minute and IIkay Gundogan added the third in the 21st minute.

In the 25th minute of the first half Manchester City were awarded their second penalty of the game and this time around, Raheem Sterling took responsibility and placed it expertly into the net to give Manchester City a 4-0 advantage.

The first half ended with Leicester City trailing by four (4) goals and needed a miracle to stand a chance if they were going to win even a point.

The beginning of the second half was full of drama as it took Leicester City ten (10) minutes into the second half to find their stride.

James Maddison pulled on back for Leicester City in the 55th minute and that brought back some confidence to the team. Four (4) minutes after Maddison’s goal, Ademola Lookman breached the city walls again for the second goal.

Kelechi Iheanacho who is fund of scoring against Manchester City added the third goal six (6) minutes after his countryman Ademola scored.

At that point, it was game on with a goal deficit until Manchester City turned up their gear and added two more goals in the 69th minute by Aymeric Laporte and the 87th minute by Raheem Sterling.

The game of character ended in a nine goals thriller with Manchester City scoring six (6) goals with Leicester City pulling back three (3).
