Mr. Solomon Otoo Lartey sees through to be elected as the new ‘2nd Vice President’ of the Ghana Boxing Federation and has promised to ensure all duties and responsibilities accorded his will always be executed in a timely fashion.
Knowing Mr. Lartey to be from an environ where boxing has produced not one but many world champions for Ghana, the 2nd Vice President elect has promised his assistant to young boxer will not stop but rather this will give him the opportunity to bring them under an umbrella that can ensure they are properly managed and involved.
Mr. Solomon Otoo Lartey after been affirmed winner of the 2nd Vice President position stated,
“I have stayed in Bukom and I have watched how the youth in the area give their all to boxing. We can all attest that majority of boxing world title Champions in Ghana have come from Bukom and they deserve to be pushed to the top.
I have watched the federation from afar for long and I come to realize that, sometimes you need to be on the round table to be able to get your message and plans across and finally I am here.
I wanted to race for the 2nd vice presidential position because I have a lot to give to the federation and now that I have been given the opportunity I will ensure amateur boxers are properly captured together with my President and 1st Vice. I have been a boxing match maker for years and I know what I can do when it comes to amateur boxing.
- Our amateur boxers are active and not only when they have to train for competitions
- Our amateur boxers are given the opportunity to add formal education to the boxing
- Together with the other leadership, we will bring all boxing gyms who continually produce amateur boxers for Ghana together to understand how to transition amateur boxers when they intend to go pro.”
One of Ghana’s best ring announcers, Mr. Mustapha Nettey also gets onto the round table as the new GBF Treasurer.
