Southampton in their bid to continue from their previous win against West Ham United in the English Premier League has to go through Tottenham Hotspurs who have been awesome under Antonio Conte.

Two days after recording their impressive win against the Hammers, Southampton hosted Tottenham at the St. Mary’s Stadium and gave a good account of themselves.

The opening minutes of the game saw both sides flying in with dangerous tackles and losing possession sloppily in the middle of attack but the host who were least expected stunned Tottenham Hotspurs in the 25th minute after skipper James Ward-Prowse from a solo effort blasted on into the oppositions net.

The game got more interesting as Ghanaian international and Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu received two yellow cards in the space of twelve (12) minutes with his second booking resulting in a penalty for Tottenham.

Harry Kane took responsibility and added another one to his tally to put his team on level pegging with Southampton.

The Saints now had a difficult task at hand defending with a man less against Tottenham Hotspurs led by Harry Kane and Son.

Southampton without doubt gave Tottenham a hard time as they tried to use their man advantage over the host but they remains resolute in the heart of defense and ensured their lines are cleared at all times.

In the 53rd minute, Harry Kane got what would have been a winner but was ruled out for off-side after checks with VAR.

With a man advantage and more pace from Tottenham Hotspurs, Southampton were able to keep their pressure at bay and share the spoils at the end of proceedings.
