This April 28, 2022, the multi-sport activity of the American continent begins with the III South American Youth Games to be held in Rosario, Argentina, with the participation of athletes from 15 countries and in which education and culture will be key components. The city of Rosario has held more than 20 international events since 1982 when it hosted the II South American Games, so its promotion and sporting tradition guarantee a good organization for this event dedicated to youth athletes.

SPORTS, CULTURE AND EDUCATION CITY Rosario is a city in which sports promotion from initiation to competitive stages forms an important link in society. But the support of its sports policies goes beyond being focused on those who want to follow a sporting life, the reason why some of its streets have become a space where citizens can have a healthier way of life. Rosario has become the first city in Argentina to support the Calle Recreativa (Recreation Street) project, where streets are closed to motor traffic allowing people to walk, jog or move around in non-motorized vehicles such as bicycles, for example.

ESSENTIAL FACTORS For this third edition, education and culture will be essential factors, the aim is to bring people closer to sport at a party never seen before, through interactive workshops, community projects, learning sessions and training, which will be articulated with the calendar of competition so South American athletes can interact with other young people while practising the Olympic values their own. On the other hand, and as it is shown in the Olympic Movement, sport is constituted as a space for the integral development of the human being, a reason that makes it a remarkable means of education in the modern era.

SCENARIOS The main objective is to recover the existing venues and facilities under a sustainability project that allows sports practice after the Games, so, each of them will be equipped with the best technology and will have a design based on its environment, but respecting nature around them. Those will be located in the Parque Independencia, a true green lung in the heart of the city, which will allow visitors to enjoy all the competitions without the need for long transfers.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND SEMINARS During the games, the General Assembly of the South American Sports Organization, ODESUR, (by its acronym in Spanish) is expected to take place, where the decision of the next host country will be made, and where the characteristics of the sports in competition and those of development or demonstration will be reviewed, among other topics.
