Coming into the race as a former bronze medalist at the 2013 world games, Ann McPherson with calm and determination broke her previous personal best leaving more room for improvement.
Jamaican world bronze medallist – Stephenie Ann McPherson took the women’s race in a Personal Best [PB] of 51.39 seconds at the Muller Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham on Saturday.
Ann McPherson who was running her second race of the season indoors after opening her season on February 11 with a 52.82 clocking at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetville, beat competition from the Netherlands’ Lieke Klaver [51.49] and Poland’s Justyna Swiety-Ersetic who came third in 52.09 seconds.
The 33-year-old from Westmoreland Parish won silver medal in the women’s 4 x 400 metres relays at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
The 400m specialist who looked well conditioned showed calmness in executing her plan and looks to make another best time in her next competition.
