Staying outside the ring for a while following his unfortunate incident at the Accra Sports Stadium, Patrick Allotey (41-4, 31KOs) of Ghana comes up against Tanzanian Hamisi Maya (13-3, 11KOs) for the WBO Africa Super Welterweight title at the Idrowhyt Events Centre, Akokofoto, Dansoman, Accra on March 26, 2022.

Known as the ‘Sweet Arrow’, Allotey’s last fight was on Boxing Day, 26th December, 2020 when he defeated Victus Kemavor by a round 2 TKO.

The Ghanaian has faced some turbulent times and wants to use this international bout to launch his return in grand style.

He must certainly win the WBO Africa belt against his Tanzania opponent to open near doors.

Hamisi ‘Hitman the Lion Heart’ Maya is a Tanzanian pugilist, twenty four years old (24yrs), who is yet to travel a 12 rounder bout despite having fought 17 professional bouts in his career.

Despite his inexperienced compared to Allotey who has 45 Pro fights with a KO ratio of 68.89%, Hamisi Maya has an equally good KO ratio of 64.7% over his 17 pro fight record.

The Tanzanian southpaw comes into the title bout as not the favourite, but he is not coming as a tourist, but a boxer who is hungry for success.

For Patrick Allotey who is handled by national coach Ofori Asare, he is optimistic of going all out to win. His experience with a shot at the world title has informed him to put in more if he wants to be with the big boys, and that is exactly what he wants to do.
