On 19th April, as we celebrate 100 days to go until the start of Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, the Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay will be beginning its journey through Trinidad and Tobago. The Caribbean nation is the 52nd destination on the Baton’s epic journey across the Commonwealth.

While the Baton is in Trinidad and Tobago, members of the local community will be invited to join in the celebrations by taking part in a virtual treasure hunt featuring clues and riddles about the Queen’s Baton Relay!

In Trinidad, the Baton will be relayed around local landmarks, including the Queen’s Park Savannah, a 260-acre park in the nation’s capital Port of Spain.

The following day when the Baton visits Tobago, the Relay will begin at the picturesque Pigeon Point Beach. Then, the Baton will be taken aboard a glass bottom boat to explore Bucco Reef, Nylon Pool, and No Man’s Land.

During the Baton’s visit to Trinidad and Tobago, it will be relayed by young aspiring sports stars as well as current and legend athletes including Commonwealth Games medalist and former 400m hurdle World Champion, Jehue Gordon.

The Queen’s Baton’s next destination in Barbados as it continues its journey through the Caribbean.
