Senegal have lined up three friendly matches against Cameroon and Guinea Bissau in preparation for next month’s 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The Lionesses have lined up two matches this week against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon before playing Guinea Bissau in the other game.
The matches against Cameroon will take place in Douala on June 15 and three days later.
The third game will take place on June 22 against Guinea Bissau, from the president of the Women’s Football Commission to the Senegalese Football Federation, Seyni Ndir Seck told CAFOnline.com this week.
The matches have been lined up for Senegal to prepare in Group A of next month’s WAFCON in Morocco where they will face the hosts, Uganda and Togo in a tough draw.
After several weeks of preparation for just the home-players the matches that start this Wednesday in Douala will help the players gel with those based abroad.
Initially, the Senegalese Football Federation had planned to organize a training camp in Turkey before moving to Morocco where the 2022 edition of the WAFCON will take place in July.
For the training camp, the Senegalese delegation is strong and also includes foreign-based players like Mama Diop who has just signed a contract for French side Marseille.
The US Parcelles Assainies (USPA), which won the domestic double, has several players in the squad, including Malado Diallo, who has played in the U17, U20 and senior selections of Senegal this year.
She was one of the strikers who managed to convert their penalties in the shootout victory against Mali in the final qualifying round for the WAFCON
