The French Ambassador to Ghana, Jules Armand Aniambossou, has lauded the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, for his instrumental role in the successful implementation of the Coaching Exchange Program between the GFA and the France Football Federation (FFF). The Ambassador’s commendation came during his visit to the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, where the program is being conducted.
Ambassador Aniambossou highlighted President Simeon-Okraku’s unwavering commitment and perseverance as key factors that have ensured the success of this capacity-building initiative. He noted that Simeon-Okraku’s dedication to enhancing the skills and knowledge of Ghanaian Coaches has been a driving force behind the ongoing program.
“Mr. President, thank you for believing in us. When you came to power, you had a number of priorities and you believed in us and pushed for this partnership. This is not only unique but it’s great and I think that we can only do better. I commend the President for his relentless efforts in making this Coaching Exchange Program a reality,” said Ambassador Aniambossou.
“Your vision and determination for capacity building within the GFA have been pivotal in fostering this collaboration with the France Football Federation. It is through his leadership that we see this program thriving here in Ghana.”
The Coaching Exchange Program, a joint effort between the GFA and FFF, has brought together two seasoned coaches from France and the Director of Coach Education for the GFA to train 23 female national team and club coaches. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance the professional competencies of local coaches, thereby raising the standards of football coaching in Ghana.
President Simeon-Okraku’s believes that by equipping coaches with the latest coaching methodologies and techniques, the overall quality of football in the country will significantly improve. His leadership has been characterized by a commitment to continuous development and innovation within the GFA.
During his address, Ambassador Aniambossou expressed his optimism about the positive impact of the program on both Ghana and France. He reiterated the French Embassy’s support for such collaborative efforts and praised the GFA for its proactive approach to improving football coaching standards.
It is anticipated that the participants in the ongoing Coaching Exchange Programme will gain advanced coaching techniques and creative approaches that will enhance the quality of Women’s Football in Ghana.
