President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, and the Executive Council, including Vice-President Mark Addo have arrived in Prampram for the 30th Ordinary Congress of the Association, which takes place between August 26-27, 2024.
A cheerful GFA boss exchanged pleasantries with delegates who had arrived earlier on Monday for the historic two-day Congress.
Subsequently, he inspected areas of the refurbished accommodation facilities at the new-look Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in the company of some Executive Council members and Regional Football Association chairmen.
The Congress will be presided over by President Simeon-Okraku, with the 11 other members of the Executive Council also attending the meeting.
The President of the Ghana Football Association is expected to provide an update on strategic initiatives being implemented and new ideas expected to be discussed and affirmed for execution during the main convocation of Congress on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
He will discuss, amongst others, strategic elements of phase two of the GFA’s agenda of fixing the fundamentals of Ghana Football whilst consolidating gains made since the last congress was held on July 10, 2023 in Kumasi.
Monday’s activities are a combination of fun-filled games to be engaged in after group discussions on topical issues impacting Ghana Football. There will also be a presentation, photo session, interviews, and the sod cutting for the construction of a modern gymnasium and swimming pool. Delegates will also visit areas of the refurbished accommodation facilities.
The main session of Congress will occur on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
President Simeon-Okraku is scheduled to attend meetings during the two-day period and also participate in special fun games lined up.
