The Ghanaian media ecosystem has reiterated its readiness for the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris as a means of promoting para sports in Ghana.
Ghana is preparing to partake in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, which commences on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, to Sunday, September 8, 2024.
The games will mark the 17th time the Paralympic Games will be held, 64 years since the first-ever Para Games was held in Rome in 1960.
The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Ghana announced earlier this year that a team of para-athletes, including four females, have earned a place to compete in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
The para-athletes include Zinabu Issah, a strong contender for a medal in the discus throw and javelin events.
Team Ghana will participate in five sports: wheelchair tennis, para-powerlifting, para-athletics, para-cycling, and para-taekwondo.
Several top journalists and media men in Ghana have received media accreditation to attend the games and report for their respective media houses back home.
The opportunity will also provide these media personalities with the opportunity to help promote para-sports in the country.
Several journalists preparing for the games have recently expressed their readiness and optimism towards the upcoming games.
