Ms. Sarah Lotus Asare, Executive Secretary of WBC Cares, Africa Region and Administrator at Wisdom Boxing Gym has disclosed that her desire to support young boxers comes from her passion to succeed in every endeavour she founds herself.
Speaking to Yours Truly in a Special Interview on The Big Fight Night on Omashi TV last Friday night, she credited much of her achievements to her environment as her project work at the University focused on boxing, afterwards she is now involved in the game.
Ms. Lotus Asare who Ghana’s first and only female match maker said some solutions are found through the desire to succeed and thanked God for answering her prayers.
She is a member of the Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Association and initiator of the GirlsBox Tournament involving only female boxers. It is an annual programme and platform that has unearthed many juvenile female boxers and she seeks for more support acknowledging her sponsors and partners.
She thanked WBC Cares, an NGO that supports boxing related social activities and the Ghana Boxing Authority for aiding her to reach the goals in keeping the youth, girls and kids alive with boxing.
The daughter of Ghana most celebrated boxing coach, Dr. Ofori Asare is a graduate in Archaeology and operates in the Tourism sector.
On the programme to search same thoughts of passion for work and excellence was Mr. Ebenezer Mii Otoe Bruce Tagoe who won the first position for Africa in the 2024 Best Sports Photographer Competition by the Association of International Sports Press (AIPS).
He revealed that the lack of pictorial memorials forced him to go into boxing which was the most loved sports in his community as he was then into weddings, outdoorings and other events.
“Sports has made me very popular and opened doors for me, like being a member of SWAG and covering international tournaments” he expressed.
He named Prof. Azumah Nelson and Mike Tyson as the boxers he loves to watch.
Nii Otoe who is a freelance photographer operates the 29 Studios in Accra and believes in education and endurance.
He commended Omashi TV for coming out with ‘The Big Fight Night’ programme to educate, entertain and transform the society.
“I want to congratulate you for this programme and hard work you are doing for Ghana and Africa, well done” he stressed.
