Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of Ghana, has declared that he is giving up his political ties in order to concentrate on humanitarian work.

Gyan said that he had been unjust to Ghanaian youth in a message posted on X, the previous Twitter platform. As a result, he now intends to focus on empowering youth through the Asamoah Gyan Foundation.

As the head of the Youth and Sports Manifesto subcommittee, Gyan had previously this year actively backed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign.

The former Black Stars Captain, however, made it clear in that he will no longer take part in party politics.
