A one-day training workshop for Division One League (DOL)  Match Commissioners was held on Tuesday September 24, 2024, ahead of the start of the 2024-25 season.

General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo,  welcomed the esteemed Commissioners to the GFA Headquarters at Ridge, Accra, and expressed his gratitude for their sacrifices and commitment to the growth of football in the country.

He underlined the crucial role played by the officers tasked to supervise the organisation of Division One League matches and for ensuring that GFA Rules and Regulations are comprehensively observed.

The one-day workshop touched on a number of areas such as amendments to the Laws of the game, Integrity, the Competition Management System (CMS), Report Writing, the Role of the modern Match Commissioner and how to conduct successful Technical Meetings.

General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, took participants through the role of the Match Commissioner, filing of reports as well as the GFA Statutes and regulations amongst others.

Head of the Information Technology department, Francis Essah Adu, took participants through the effective use of the Competition Management System in filing reports on matches.

Club Licensing Manager, Esme Mends,  also took participants through club licensing, safety and security while Referees Manager, Alex Kotey highlited on the amendments to the laws of the game.

The Football Association’s Compliance and Integrity Officer, Obed Tuffour, took the participants through integrity matters

Other pertinent aspects of the game, including misconduct, compliance and protection of the game’s integrity were discussed.

Deputy General Secretary in charge of Administration, Ama Brobey-Williams, opened the one-day workshop at the FA Headquarters in Accra.

The opening matches of the Access Bank Division One League will take place on the weekend starting Friday, September 27, to Monday, September 30, 2024, across all the three zones.
