Budding national athletes Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah, Cynthia Mensah and Nasaara Quansah who represents Ghana in Track & Field are among 32 personalities and organisations who will be honoured at the 10th Women In Sports Association Awards ceremony at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Ms. Perpetual Naa Ayikailey Okaijah who won a gold medal for Ghana in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) at the 13th African Games, Accra 2023 is among the awardees.

Handball star Vida Baffowaa, hockey players Lawrentia Okine of Ghana National Fire Service GNFS and SCO Hagar Laryea of Ghana Prisons Service, international fencer Kelsey Woname are in the list. 

Four female journalists, Aniela Allotey of TV3, Doreen Lamptey of Obonu TV and GTV Sports fame, Naa Deide Sampah and Awurabena Adzi of HSTV as well as four male media practitioners who have been supporting female sporting activities will also be honoured. 

They are Messrs Sammy Heywood Okine aka General One of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), African Sports Media and Omashi TV fame, Prince Annang of Max TV, Theophilus Sampah of GTV and Phil John Quartey of Metro TV.

Astute sports supporters. Rashida Iddi and Abigail Twumasiwaa Okantah are also recognised in the list just like distinguished personalities like DDG Mrs. Patience Baffoe Bonnie and Captain Andy Sam of Aspire Soccer fame.

Ms. Betty Dzimah, secretary of the Director General and Thomas Kumordzi of the National Sports Authority (NSA) will be rewarded as well as some members of the Trinity Church.

According to Madam Gloria Commodore due to lack of support from corporate Ghana this may be her last as age is catching up on her and the expences in putting up the event is becoming unbearable.

She however would accept if any company comes on board to take over.
