Budding national athlete Nasaara Efua Quansah who was honoured at the 10th Women In Sports Association (WISA) Achievers Awards has revealed her big ambition as to represent Ghana at the next Olympic Games in Los Angeles in the USA.
Quansah who represents the Central Region was accompanied by her trainer to the Accra Sports Stadium last Saturday for her prize expressed her surprise and joy at the same time, because she did not know someone was watching her exploits and never expected to be celebrated in her Track & Field discipline.
“I was really shocked when I heard my name, I didn’t believe, but after receiving the certificate, I know it is real and I want to thank the WISA Awards organisers and Madam Gloria Commodore that God will bless her and all those who work with her” she expressed.
“This award will inspire me to work harder” she added.
The 100m, 200m and 400m athlete who has represented Ghana in junior championships as well as took part in the GNPC Ghana Fastest hopes to improve upon her times and go higher.
She named Olympians Sha Carri Richardson and Julian Alfred as her idols and wants to run with them.
She believes Ghana has good athletes who can rob shoulders with the best in the world and they should be inspired and motivated.
32 sports women, organisations and some men who support female sports activities were honoured.
