Samuel Martei Laryea of Ghana defeated Nigerian Lukman Akinolugbade in five rounds to become the new Universal Boxing Organisation (UBO) Africa super bantamweight champion.
The bout took place in Akropong Akuapem in the Eastern Region of Ghana as the headline event of the 2024 Odwira Fight Night, ‘The Eastern Brawl’, at the forecourt of the Akropong Palace.

My opponent showed his strengths early in the fight but I give credit to my corner for instructing me to change my style and go to the body.
