The President of the West Africa Football Union Zone B (WAFU B), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has lauded CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, for delivering on his promise to drive more financial investment to Zonal Unions and Member Associations (MAs) of the African Confederation.
The Ghana Football Association President acknowledged the immense contribution of the Head of the continent’s governing body, during a WAFU B Zonal meeting on Sunday October 20, 2024, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
WAFU B President Kurt Okraku: “We thank President Motsepe for the enormous work he has done since he took over as the President of CAF. We have seen the progress, the progress of his vision. As an MA President, we understand the pain of finding even 1 USD. Funding under President Motsepe’s leadership has increased. If you go to our countries, football development activities are happening. And that is no co-incidence. We also thank President Motsepe for his visits to Heads of States in Africa – and engage them.”
Under Simeon-Okraku’s strong and visionary leadership, WAFU B has seen new competitions introduced as the Zone’s President, who doubles as Ghana FA leader, is poised to continue his journey of transforming football in the sub-region.
The CAF Zonal meetings are taking place ahead of the 46th CAF Ordinary General Assembly which will also be held in the Ethiopian capital on Tuesday, 22 October 2024 at 1000hrs local time (0700 GMT).
Mr. Okraku is expected to hold a number of other meetings to discuss issues of major interest and of benefit for Ghana Football and the WAFU B Zone before returning to Ghana.
