Coach Dr. Ofori Asare. Founder and CEO of the Wisdom Boxing Gym believes Haruna Mohammed will successfully retain his National Cruiserweight title against Jacob Dickson on November 23 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in the ‘Battle of the Beasts’.

Speaking on Omashi TV’s top boxing programme – ‘The Big Fight Night’ he commended former boxer Ayitey Powers for coming out with a promotional outfit to support boxers and offer them lucrative packages.

According to Dr. Asare who is Technical Director of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF), Black Bombers, the initiative of Ayitey Powers is positive and in the right direction so he should be supported.

He noted that Haruna Mohammed aka ‘Thunder’ is going to shock fans by retaining the belt against Dickson on November 23 and called for respect and honor for national title holders as that is the best way to climb in the journey to boxing greatness.

“After the National title, we are go for West Africa, Africa, Commonwealth and the World, there is no need to rush because if you are good, the chances and opportunities will come, Haruna will win” he asserted.

Accompanied by Theophilus ‘Lopez’ Allotey, a product of La Presby SHS and Wisdom Boxing Club, who went on a training tour in the British Cayman Islands, they expressed their preparedness and anxiety to fight on one of the biggest platforms.

Theo Allotey who hails from Sempe, now fighting in the bantamweight division said he has transformed from an amateur star to a top pro and ready to take on an opponent yet to be named on the bill. 

“I learnt many new tricks, techniques, skills and styles at the well equipped training facility in the Cayman Island and wish to display on November 23” he expressed. 

Elvis Ahorgah aka Soldier Boxer will take on Ernest Akushey aka ‘Baubali’ in a return duel for the National Super Middleweight title on the November 23 bill.

Also featuring are Daniel Ankrah and Stephen Coffie.
