President of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) has divulged that he is going for his second term in elections fixed for June this year.

He told Prince Dornu-Leiku of Dornu’s Corner fame that he has done so much for Ghana Boxing and wants to continue with the good work.

He claim to be the first president of Ghana Boxing to introduce a professional league which has hosted many bouts and winners (best gym and best boxer) are presented with cars. He bought a car for the Ghana Boxing Authority.

He has also introduced a marketing and security team as well as working with corporate bodies to support and partner Ghana Boxing. 

He got new national championship title belts and that has brought some competition in local boxing. 

He will face stiff challenge from personalities like his Vice Presidents Rabbon Dodoo and Roger Barnor as well as Alex Ntiamoah Boakye of Box Office Promotions who want to take over.

Others interested in the position are former boxer Emmanuel Mosquito Addo who is based in the USA, Ivan Bruce Cudjoe  of Cabic Promotions and Isaac Dogboe former WBO Bantamweight champion.

Many people are not happy with the current management and administration however Neequaye feels he is on track. 

According to the GBA President he came to meet old national  champions who cannot become world beaters, but now there are young champions who can bring world glory and honor to the nation.

“My good work has made the presidency attractive and every one wants it, but it takes serious hard work to achieve” he expressed.
