President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has revealed that a new head coach for the Black Stars will be appointed within the next one to two weeks.

The announcement comes in the aftermath of the departure of Otto Addo, who was relieved of his duties following a string of disappointing results in recent international friendlies.

Speaking in an interview with 3Sports, Okraku indicated that the football governing body is moving swiftly to secure a replacement, with efforts already underway to finalize the next technical direction of the national team.

“Ghana to install new coach in a week or two,” he stated.

The GFA’s timeline signals urgency as the Black Stars continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with crucial international fixtures lined up in the coming months.

Following back-to-back defeats against Austria and Germany, the need for stability and a clear technical vision has become a priority for the association.

The incoming coach is expected to quickly assess the squad and implement strategies ahead of upcoming friendlies, including clashes against Mexico and Wales.

With Ghana drawn in a competitive World Cup group alongside England, Croatia, and Panama, the timely appointment of a new coach is seen as critical to the team’s chances of making a strong impact on the global stage.
