The Ghana Football Association has sealed a new sponsorship partnership with TECNO Ghana in a move aimed at driving technology and innovation into the country’s football development system.

The deal was formalized on Friday, May 29, 2026, at a public signing ceremony at the GFA headquarters in Accra, with TECNO Ghana announced as an Official Partner of the Association

As part of the agreement, TECNO Ghana will provide 100 units of its flagship Camon 50 smartphone and 100 performance-tracking devices to support football development and improve player performance monitoring across the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, TECNO National Channel Manager Ernest Sonkor said the partnership aligns with the brand’s mission to use technology to create opportunities.

“At TECNO, we believe technology has the power to transform lives and create opportunities. Football is the passion of millions of Ghanaians, and through this partnership with the GFA, we are excited to contribute to the growth of the game while empowering players and administrators with innovative tools that enhance performance and connectivity,” Sonkor said.

He added that the deal represents more than a typical sponsorship: “This partnership goes beyond sponsorship. It represents a shared commitment to excellence, innovation and the development of football from the grassroots to the elite level. We are proud to align our brand with the vision and aspirations of the Ghana Football Association.”

GFA Vice-President Mark Addo expressed appreciation for TECNO’s support and said the partnership reflects growing trust in the Association’s developmental agenda.

“We are delighted to welcome TECNO Ghana as an Official Partner of the Ghana Football Association. This partnership reflects the growing confidence that leading brands have in Ghana football and in the work we are doing to transform the game,” Addo said.

He noted that the smartphones and performance-tracking devices will have direct impact on GFA’s programs: “The provision of smartphones and performance-tracking devices demonstrates TECNO’s understanding of the evolving needs of modern football. These resources will help strengthen our development programmes and support our efforts to improve performance through technology and innovation.”

The TECNO delegation included CEO of IMAX Media/Maxbuy Maxwell Techie, Brand Manager Lolon Luo, Marketing Manager Camille Louis-Leon, and National Retail Manager Simon Xu.

Representing the GFA were Executive Council members Samuel Aboabire, Fred Acheampong and Eugene Nobel Noel, plus CFO Collins Dei, Marketing Director Jamil Maraby, Head of PR & Strategy Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, Business Development Manager Janice Odonkor, and HR Manager Keziah Agyekumwaa Afosa.
