Bibiani Gold Stars assistant communications and administrative manager Joseph Oti Manu has credited head coach of the club Fritz Schmid as an individual who is “really up for the task”.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports ahead of the defending Ghana Premier League champions’ top clash against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Dun’s Park in Bibiani on Sunday, March 1.

Schmid took over from Frimpong Manso following the latter’s surprising dismissal in the early part of the season. Since his take over, Schmid has guided Gold Stars to second place in the standings.

Ahead of the big clash against Hearts of Oak, Gold Stars trail league leaders Medeama by three points and Oti Manu believes under Schmid, Gold Stars can clinch its first ever home win over Hearts.

“He is really up for the task. Fritz Schmid is a UEFA License A trainer so he knows everything about the coaching job. When he came, the team was ranked sixth or seventh but for now the team is second and trying to win the league back to back

“The last meeting we had with Hearts in Bibiani, it was 1-1 but any slim win for Bibiani Gold Stars will do” Oti Manu said.

Hearts of Oak rank fourth in the lead up to the game.
