Gold Fields Ghana Limited has stepped in as the new headline sponsor of the Ghana Women’s Premier League following an agreement with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The partnership provides a timely boost to women’s football in the country after the exit of previous title sponsor Malta Guinness. It is expected to deliver increased financial and developmental support to clubs and significantly raise the profile of the league.
According to the GFA, the collaboration with Gold Fields will strengthen the women’s game by improving resources for participating clubs, enhancing league competitiveness, and creating better opportunities for players, coaches, and technical staff nationwide.
“This partnership solidifies our efforts to grow women’s football and aligns with our commitment to developing the sport at all levels,” the GFA stated.
Further details about the sponsorship package will be announced in the coming weeks. These will include the unveiling of a new Women’s Premier League logo and its full implementation.
This move is considered a positive development for the league, which has been striving to boost visibility and investment in Ghanaian women’s football.
