Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has praised Enzo Maresca’s coaching methods, highlighting the Italian manager’s meticulous approach and commitment to excellence as Manchester City continue preparations for the new season.
The Black Stars forward is set to work under Maresca for the first time following Pep Guardiola’s departure. Semenyo, who joined City during the January transfer window, has been impressed by the impact the new manager has already made on the squad.
According to the Ghanaian attacker, Maresca’s coaching style bears similarities to Guardiola’s, particularly in the emphasis placed on precision, tactical awareness and attention to detail.
“Very good, very detailed,” Semenyo said when asked about Maresca’s training sessions, as quoted by Manchester City’s official website.
“He’s got an eye for detail and he wants everything to be right, which is quite similar to Pep. That’s good for us as players so we’ve enjoyed it so far.”
Semenyo has continued to establish himself as an important figure at the club since arriving during the second half of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
The Ghana international has made 27 appearances across all competitions for Manchester City, scoring 11 goals and making a significant contribution to the club’s attacking play.
With City’s pre-season programme entering a crucial phase, Semenyo and his teammates will be eager to translate Maresca’s detailed coaching methods into strong performances on the pitch.
The upcoming clash against Inter Milan presents another opportunity for the squad to fine-tune their preparations and further adapt to the Italian manager’s tactical demands ahead of what promises to be an important campaign.
