Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani believes his side had enough chances to win but failed to make them count as the Phobians were held to a goalless draw by Heart of Lions in their Ghana Premier League encounter on Friday.
The Accra giants came into the match desperate to halt a three-game winless run, hoping a positive result would tighten their grip on a top-four spot. But despite dictating the tempo and carving out clear scoring opportunities, Hearts once again struggled with efficiency in the final third.
Reflecting on the performance after the match, Dramani admitted the team’s wastefulness proved costly.
“I think in the first half we controlled the game the way we wanted, and we came up close in terms of the chances we created. I think in the first half, we created about three chances that could have given us the goal. And in the second half, we created two chances that could have given us the goals, so I think if we had made those right decisions in those key moments, at least we should have scored a goal,” he said.
The stalemate keeps Hearts of Oak in third place, but with several teams close behind, their position in the top four is now under threat as Week 26 concludes.
Dramani will hope his attackers rediscover their sharpness quickly as the race for a strong finish intensifies.
