Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist Ibrahim Mahama has expressed his admiration for the Black Stars’ performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, revealing that the team’s displays have convinced him to increase his financial support for the national team.

Mahama made the remarks during a visit to the Black Stars’ training camp in the United States, where he joined a high-profile Ghanaian delegation that came to encourage the team ahead of their next World Cup assignment.

Speaking to the players and officials, the founder of Engineers and Planners commended the squad for their determination, discipline, and commitment on the global stage.

“I’m really impressed with your performances at the World Cup. I was holding on to the money I pledged to support you and told the Minister I wouldn’t give it to you until I see good performances from you. But now, I want to rush home and give you even more money,” Ibrahim Mahama told the team.

His comments were met with excitement and appreciation from members of the squad, who continue to carry the hopes of millions of Ghanaians at the tournament.

Also present were Ghana’s Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Victor Emmanuel Smith, alongside Ibrahim Mahama.

The delegation’s presence highlighted the unity and confidence being placed in the team as they represent Ghana on football’s biggest stage.
