Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has made it clear that his side will not adopt a cautious approach when they face Croatia in their final Group L match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Black Stars head into the high-stakes encounter against the 2018 World Cup finalists knowing that a draw would be enough to secure qualification to the Round of 32.

Ghana began their campaign with a narrow 1-0 win over Panama before earning a disciplined goalless draw against England—results that have put them in control of their own destiny heading into the final group fixture.

Despite the favourable position, Queiroz has dismissed any suggestion of a defensive game plan, insisting his team will stick to their attacking identity regardless of the stakes.

Speaking ahead of the match, the Portuguese coach was emphatic about his intentions.

“A lot of talk about attack and defence, but I only know how to play to win, and that’s what we will do against Croatia,” Queiroz said.

The equation is simple for Ghana: avoid defeat and they progress. But their coach has made it clear there will be no approach built around survival when they step onto the pitch.
