A total of 859 Colts clubs are set to participate in the 2026/27 grassroots football season, highlighting the extensive reach of the system across Ghana.
The clubs are spread across the country’s 10 football regions, providing young players with opportunities to develop and compete at community level.
The Ashanti Region has the highest number with 245 clubs, followed by Greater Accra with 216. Brong Ahafo and Northern each have 98, while Central has 90 and Western has 50.
Eastern has 26 clubs, with Upper East, Upper West and Volta recording 15, 11 and 10 respectively.
GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku said the figures demonstrate the importance of Colts football within Ghana’s football development structure.
“The numbers demonstrate how deeply rooted Colts football has become in communities across Ghana,” Simeon-Okraku said.
The figures were announced during the official launch of the 2026/27 Colts Football Season at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram on Tuesday, September 15.
