Antoine Semenyo has withdrawn from Ghana’s squad and will miss all three of the Black Stars’ fixtures during the September-October international window, Ghana Media Hub can confirm.

Semenyo was named in Carlos Queiroz’s original 24-man squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia, as well as the friendly against Morocco.

His withdrawal means the Manchester City forward will not feature in Thursday’s qualifier against Côte d’Ivoire in Bouaké, next week’s meeting with The Gambia in Accra, or the friendly against Morocco in Tangier on 4 October.

The development is another change to Queiroz’s squad as Ghana prepare for the Portuguese coach’s first competitive matches in charge.

The Black Stars have already made several adjustments to the original squad, with the Ghana Football Association confirming nine additions following medical uncertainties involving some players.

Ghana begin their Group C campaign against Côte d’Ivoire on 24 September before facing The Gambia and then travelling to Morocco for the international friendly.
