Jordan Ayew says he has arrived at Sheffield United with a strong desire to make an impact and help the club achieve its goals this season.
The Ghana captain completed his move to the Blades on Tuesday, signing a one-year contract after leaving Leicester City as a free agent.
Ayew revealed that the move came together quickly after a phone call from manager Chris Wilder.
“It happened really, really quick because I was in Ghana and the manager called me last week.
“I didn’t think twice; I just took the opportunity.”
The 34-year-old is now focused on contributing to a Sheffield United squad he believes has plenty of potential.
“The most important thing is for me to help the team and obviously for us to have a great season.
“I have a lot of desire this season to make an impact and to help the team because we have a good squad and there’s a lot of positive things we can do.”
Ayew brings more than 500 competitive appearances to Sheffield United, having played for Marseille, Sochaux, Lorient, Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Leicester City.
