Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Don-Angelo Konadu endured a tough night in Belgium as his Lommel SK side suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat on their tip to Royale Union SG on Saturday.
Konadu, 20, lasted 82 minutes on the field before being subbed off by manager Lee Johnson with Dutch defender Tristan Gooijer taking his place.
With the host dominating play and cutting off supplies to the young striker his duties on the night were reduced offering defensive support to his teammates.
Paris-born Ghanaian striker Stredair Owusu Appiah was also handed a starting spot. However, he was replaced after lasting 74 minutes at the Stade Joseph Marien in Brussels.
Konadu is on a season-long loan deal at the Soevereinstadion from Ajax Amsterdam with an option to buy inserted into his loan agreement between the two clubs.
He has scored once in 4 league appearances for Lommel in the league.
On February 23, 2025, he made his first-team debut in the league match against Go Ahead Eagles and went ahead to make 17 first team appearances for Ajax.
