Musah Lawson, aka ‘Awoo Dade’ a former member of the Black Bombers was in the national boxing team for seven years serving his country and never regrets, his only problem is the lack of bouts since he became a professional four years ago.
“My aim and desire is to become a world champion in boxing or one of the best and well known champions. I was born into boxing and boxing found me, I do not brag, but I know I am the best in my weight class. I want to appeal to managers and promoters to give me the opportunity” he expressed.
According to Lawson his two senior brothers who are based in Canada have supported him to win a national title belt but he wants to go beyond to become a continental and world champion, so he wants a manager and promoter who can take him to the next level,
The former amateur star said he has gained much experience and now wants to hit at the bigger crowns.
His only loss was a catch weight contest for a championship title outside Ghana which was rushed, so he did not prepare well. However he has now learnt a lot and is never complacent.
He thanked his employers, Ghana Prisons Service for the opportunities they have given him to be released for national sporting assignments like the World Championship, African Games, Commonwealth Games and Olympic Games qualifiers.
He also thanked his family; the Akrong brothers, fans and supporters who have always been with him.
