Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz says he is counting on the inspiration and commitment of his players to produce another impressive display when Ghana face Croatia in their decisive FIFA World Cup Group L clash.
The Portuguese coach has transformed Ghana into one of the tournament’s most organised teams since taking charge in April, with the Black Stars yet to concede a goal after matches against Panama and England.
Ahead of Saturday’s encounter, Queiroz expressed confidence that his players would rise to the occasion.
“I hope that with the inspiration of my players, we can produce good football on the pitch,” he said during Friday’s pre-match press conference.
Ghana need only a draw to book their place in the Round of 32, but Queiroz has repeatedly insisted his team will play to win rather than settle for a point.
The Black Stars have earned praise for their discipline and resilience under the former Portugal and Iran coach, whose tactical approach has revived belief within the squad and among supporters.
A positive result against Croatia would secure Ghana’s place in the knockout stages and continue the team’s encouraging resurgence under Queiroz.
