The Ghana Senior Men’s National Volleyball Team, the Black Spikers, has officially departed the country for Tunisia to participate in the 2026 Men’s Africa Nations Volleyball Championship. The prestigious continental tournament is scheduled to run from 13th to 26th September 2026, bringing together the best volleyball nations on the continent to battle for supremacy.
The team, which has been in intensive camp for the past weeks, is heading into the championship with high hopes of improving on their previous outings and making a strong statement.
The technical handlers of the team have expressed confidence in the selected squad, blending experienced campaigners with young and energetic talents who have excelled in the local league.
Ghana will face stiff competition from volleyball powerhouses such as Tunisia, Egypt, Cameroon, and Algeria, but the Black Spikers have vowed to be competitive. The Ghana Volleyball Association says participation alone is not the target this time, but to progress beyond the group stage and fight for a podium finish.
