The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially launched the 2026/27 Colts Football Season, renewing its focus on grassroots development and the identification of young football talent across the country.

The launch ceremony was held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, bringing together GFA officials, Regional Football Association chairmen, Colts club representatives, former players, sponsors and other key stakeholders.

The new campaign marks the sixth consecutive season since the Colts system was revived and restructured by the GFA in 2020.

GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, who addressed the gathering, said the revival was aimed at rebuilding a structured pathway for young players from community football through to elite, professional and national-team levels.

“This is a day to celebrate our children, our clubs and the men and women who continue to dedicate their time and resources to nurturing young talent,” he said.

The launch formally sets the stage for the 2026/27 Colts season as Ghana continues efforts to strengthen its grassroots football structure.
