
Senior Armwrestler Chief Inspector of Ghana Police, Grace Mintah was a delight to watch at the 15th African Armwrestling Championship held at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra.
The world champion won all her battles with ease until she clashed with Egyptian Lady Fathia at the final and it was a real battle of strength, skill, strategy and smartness, but at the end Grace proved to be the champion.

Speaking to the media after the two day event, she expressed her joy for Ghana claiming most medals to emerge overall champions which was more important to her than her personal achievement.
“We are very happy to be the overall champion with most medals, that was our target and we achieved in style, I commend all the junior pullers for their achievements and urge them to train hard for the African Games in 2027 because Egypt is hosting and they will come out strongly like my final game with a Egyptian” she expressed.

She is now a multiple African Champion and the first African to claim a gold medal at the highest competitive level.
She has won the prestigious Sports Writers Association of Ghana Award and she is a great motivation to many female pullers. Grace Mintah is an African Queen in Armwrestling winning Gold and Silver medals at several championships.


Ghana won a total of 168 medals (71 gold, 63 silver and 34 bronze) to win the overall team gold trophy which was presented to Grace Mintah by Hon Kofi Adams, Sports and Recreation Minister.
