Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has praised his side’s performance after their goalless draw with Hearts of Oak in the Week 26 Ghana Premier League fixture on Friday.
The encounter at the Kpando Sports Stadium saw both teams battle for dominance, but neither could convert their chances, resulting in a stalemate.
Hayford, reflecting on the match, insisted that the scoreline accurately reflected the competitiveness on the pitch.
“Well, I think this one is a true reflection of the game. Hearts of Oak played very well, very solid at the defense and then we also played very well at the defense and then we were all trying to make sure we use the midfield to break the lines, but it was difficult for both teams. I think half a loaf is better than none. We will take it and go away and see what will happen,” he said.
The result sees Heart of Lions remain ninth on the league table, while Hearts of Oak hold onto third place but face the possibility of dropping out of the top four depending on other results this weekend.
